Handicap System - Casual Form Guide
Instigated in 2012, in readiness for the 2013 event, as part of the ever evolving process to maintain The Trevor as the premier event of matchplay team golf.
The players with club golf handicaps will still play off this number as this figure reflects a true position of their game.
For the rest, the new system starts with a post Trevor review (from the most recent event) with handicaps then adjusted as a start figure for the following year. These adjustments are based on the players form and, to an
extent results. The only changes from these figures will be any player informing their captain of a resurgence in form in the intervening time between Trevors.
The team result (that year and overall match score) are also considered so that the losers of the event and team trailing in the overall match score are handicapped favourably; like horse racing to equalise any advantage. This will make it a little tougher for a winning Trevor team to win the following year.
Each player without a club handicap will be adjusted as follows based on their recent Trevor form.
Very Good adjustment whatever team you are on (one shot losing, two shots winning)
Good form one shot reduction (only for winning team players)
Average no change
Poor handicap increase (one shot only for losing team players)
Poor + adjustment whatever team you are on
